Description

This is a polished elongated teardrop cabochon of scenic moss agate from Indonesia. Cream, beige and translucent‑white body tones show curved banding and layered chalcedony-like patterning, with mossy green, brown and reddish dendritic-style inclusions visible beneath the glossy surface. The cabochon measures 4.5 × 2.3 × 0.4 cm and weighs 7 g, with a pointed top and a rounded lower end. The surface is smoothly polished and the internal banding and dendritic-style markings are clearly seen against the translucent chalcedony host. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz (SiO2). Scenic moss agates typically display filamentous or branching inclusions within the chalcedony that give them their characteristic landscape-like appearance.
