Description

This polished oval cabochon combines pink amethyst and flower agate in a mottled palette of pinkish‑lavender, cream and brown. The face shows rounded, patchy zoning‑like areas alongside cloudy translucent sections and milky opaque patches, finished with a smooth, rounded polish and a tapered lower end. The stone measures 5.3 × 3.2 × 1.0 cm and weighs 44 g. The surface is uniformly polished and the patterning across the face is the specimen’s principal visual feature, with soft, rounded colour patches rather than sharp banding. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and flower agate is a banded and bubbly agate variety commonly seen from Madagascar; this piece shows features typical of polished quartz‑rich material from that region.
