Description
This is a polished freeform of pink amethyst and flower agate originating from Madagascar. The surface is rounded and cabochon-like, showing creamy white-to-beige areas alongside semi-translucent zones and cloudy internal patterning, with yellow-brown patches and streaks and a small pinkish-brown patch near the top. Measuring 5.5 × 3.5 × 0.7 cm and weighing 39 g, the piece has a smooth polished face that nevertheless reveals visible druze and a few tiny dark specks on the surface. The combination of muted pink tones with cream and brown accents gives a layered, sculptural look in a compact form. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and agates are typically banded forms of microcrystalline quartz; the term “flower agate” is used commercially for agate showing floral-like patterning. Madagascar is a common source of both pink-hued amethyst and patterned agates.
