Description
This is a polished Lapis Lazuli slab showing a deep royal-blue body with dark mottling and speckling and thin white to light‑grey veins crossing the surface. The piece has an irregular, angular outline with beveled edges and a smooth glossy polish, giving a tactile, finished feel. Weighing 107 g and measuring 5 × 4.5 × 3 cm, the slab is compact and solid in hand. The surface is opaque and the polish emphasises the contrast between the blue ground, darker mottled patches and the lighter vein-work that threads across the face. Lapis Lazuli is a rock dominated by the blue mineral lazurite and commonly contains calcite and pyrite in varying amounts; Sar‑e‑sang in Afghanistan is a well‑known source for deep blue material. This contextual note is general background and does not assert specific accessory minerals for this exact slab.
