Description
This is a hand-sized polished freeform of pink amethyst and flower agate from Madagascar, rounded-rectangular in outline. The piece shows a translucent grey-brown base with scattered cream–white branching—flower-like—patterns throughout, a few small brown–orange patches and one tiny green speck near the lower area. The surface is glossy and fully polished, and the freeform measures 6.5 × 4.3 × 1 cm, weighing 79 g. The overall shape is a gently rounded rectangle, suitable as a tactile specimen or pocket-sized example of this material. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and flower agate refers to chalcedonic, banded or patterned varieties of silica that often show rounded, floral-looking inclusions or patterning in general terms. These general mineral relationships help explain the combined appearance of crystalline amethyst tones and the distinctive branching patterns seen across this polished slab.
