Description
This rugged sugar fluorite druse from Fujian, China is densely coated with a sugary, frosty layer of pale green to grey‑green drusy crystals. Several larger, translucent pale green crystals sit across the main face, giving pockets of clearer crystal points amid the fine sparkling coating. Measuring 15 × 10 × 4 cm and weighing 652 g, the specimen presents an irregular, textured surface with locally more prominent crystal points. The image shows and the overall effect is a granular, sugar‑like crystal habit with occasional larger points rising above the druse. Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2) and commonly forms crystals; many fluorite specimens can fluoresce under ultraviolet light, though UV behaviour varies between individual pieces.
