Description
This dragon-scale calcite cluster shows a tight aggregate of dark smoky-brown translucent prismatic crystals with pointed terminations sitting on a pale beige matrix. Several crystals display lighter translucent edges and tips, and the group is shown mounted on a clear display stand. The specimen measures 8 × 5 × 5 cm and weighs 206 g. Calcite is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and commonly forms prismatic and scalenohedral habits in a variety of colours; smoky to brown tones are a recognised colour range for calcite in many localities, including Pakistan.
