Description
This Fluorite is a compact, dark purple cluster showing a sparkly drusy surface made up of many small, predominantly cubic crystal faces. A few lighter translucent purple–grey areas occur at the edges, giving subtle local contrast across the piece. Measuring 12.5 × 8 × 3.5 cm and weighing 253 g, the cluster sits on a small matrix and presents dense crystallisation across its top surface. The drusy texture is visible across much of the specimen and the cubic habit is the dominant crystal form. Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2) and commonly forms cubic crystals; many specimens from Pakistan show rich purple tones. UV fluorescence varies between individual fluorite specimens and is not described for this piece.
