Description
A rough, unpolished piece of Blue lace agate showing pale blue–grey to whitish banding and translucent areas where the material thins. The specimen has a matte to slightly waxy surface and a rounded, blunt upper end, with an irregular natural shape that keeps the agate’s original contours. One side of the specimen retains a gray‑green rocky matrix, giving a clear contrast with the chalcedony. The piece measures 5 × 7 × 3 cm and weighs 119 g; thinner margins transmit light and show the material’s translucency while thicker areas remain more opaque. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz), commonly forming as fills in cavities and fractures; the soft, pale banding and translucent margins are typical of this material.
