Description
This is a cut and polished Red Crazy Lace Agate slab with a broad flat polished face showing strong wavy banding of many thin layers in cream, tan, honey, orange‑brown, grey and reddish tones. The piece retains an irregular natural outer rind and edge and is shown mounted on a clear display stand. The slab measures 13 × 9 × 1.5 cm and weighs 329 g. The polished surface emphasises the fine, undulating banding characteristic of crazy lace agate, while the intact irregular rind around the edge preserves the rock’s natural outline. There is no additional mineral association visible on the polished face. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz (SiO2); such slabs commonly illustrate the layered growth behaviour of chalcedony and are used to examine banding and colour variation in hand specimens.
