Description

This is a polished oval cabochon of pink amethyst and flower agate from Madagascar, showing soft pink, beige and cream tones across a smooth, glossy surface. The face carries multiple round, flower-like orb patterns that give the piece its floral character; overall translucency ranges from slight to opaque. There are minor natural-looking surface pits and small fracture marks near the upper edge and right side. The cabochon measures 4.3 × 2.5 × 0.8 cm and weighs 26 g. The shape is a classic oval cut with a high polish, making the orb-patterns and colour zones clear across the surface. Visible condition details are the small pits and the fracture marks noted at the upper edge and right side. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and flower agate refers to agate with rounded, orb-like patterning; both occur in Malagasy material commonly worked for cabochons and jewellery.
