Description
This is a polished teardrop cabochon of scenic moss agate from Indonesia, showing curved layered banding in cream, translucent grey‑white and warm honey‑brown tones. A concentrated moss‑like dendritic inclusion pattern runs along one side and the lower portion, and the surface is smooth and glossy. The piece measures 4.5 × 2 × 0.4 cm and weighs 8 g, a pendant‑style shape that highlights the banding and internal dendrites. The shallow thickness keeps the stone relatively translucent where the lighter bands occur, while the darker zones provide contrast against the dendritic patterns. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz (SiO2); scenic or “moss” agates commonly display dendritic growths or inclusions that produce plant‑like patterns within layered chalcedony.
