Description
This polished labradorite freeform shows pronounced blue‑green and yellow‑orange iridescence across a glossy, smooth surface. The piece preserves a cabochon‑like curved profile and carries visible internal fractures within the stone. Measuring 15.5 × 14 × 5 cm and weighing 1,943 g, the specimen is a substantial polished slab of labradorite from Madagascar. The polish emphasises the shifting flash colours across the surface while the internal fractures are visible in transmitted and reflected light. Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar known for labradorescence — an optical effect produced by light interacting with fine internal layering — which explains the blue‑green and yellow‑orange flashes seen here.
