Description
This polished Black Moss Agate cabochon shows striking concentric banding in brown, cream and dark grey across a smooth, surface. Cloudy translucent white areas sit alongside small greenish, moss‑like patches visible near the edge, giving it a layered, varied look. The piece is a thin round slice-style cabochon, 4 × 4 × 0.4 cm and 13 g, finished with a smooth polish on both faces. Opaque to translucent overall, the cab has clear banding patterns that follow the round form and a flat profile suited to lapidary use or study. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz), so these concentric bands and translucent zones are typical of the material. The greenish patches are visible inclusions within the slice rather than surface coatings.
