Description
This is a handheld 58 g cluster of pale honey-yellow to translucent calcite and fluorite crystals, showing a drusy covering of small, light-catching faces with some minor dark speckling. A few crystals display sharper, blocky to rhombohedral-looking faces and pointed terminations, and the piece remains attached to a darker matrix at the base. Measuring 6 × 5.5 × 2 cm, the cluster combines fine drusy texture with several more defined, blocky crystal faces that give visual contrast across the specimen. The overall translucency ranges from pale yellow to clearer crystal sections, and the base matrix provides a darker backdrop that highlights the lighter crystals. Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2) and calcite is calcium carbonate (CaCO3); both commonly occur together in hydrothermal and carbonate-related settings, where calcite can form rhombohedral habits and fluorite often produces more blocky, cubic forms.
