Description
This Amethyst shows a dense drusy surface of tightly packed, highly reflective purple crystals, with colour deepening to a darker purple in the centre and lighter purple toward the edges. A pale whitish–grey cap runs along the top edge, and the overall outline is irregular and rounded-to-arched. The piece measures 7 × 5 × 4.5 cm and weighs 171 g. Texture is dominated by the fine druse rather than individual large points; surfaces catch the light across many small crystal faces rather than single terminations. No specific damage or treatment is indicated. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystal coatings and drusy surfaces in cavities and vugs. This specimen’s Brazilian origin places it within that broad context of quartz material from Brazil.
