Description

This rounded Amethyst cluster shows a dense druse of small-to-medium glassy crystals, with a deep purple core that lightens to lavender around the rim. The specimen measures 9 × 6 × 5 cm and weighs 313 g. Crystal coverage is tight across the exposed surface, producing a vivid central colour contrast with the paler peripheral zone. The cut base provides a stable footing and exposes the host at the perimeter. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystal-lined cavities and clusters; Brazilian material is widely encountered in commercial specimens.
