Description
This Brazilian Amethyst druse shows a broadly oval face densely coated in small, sparkling purple crystals that give a classic drusy appearance. The specimen has an irregular natural rock border and a rough grey–white outer matrix along one side, with a shallow cavity or darker area near the lower left. Weighing 1,470 g and measuring 20 × 11.8 × 6 cm, the piece presents tightly packed small crystal points across the face rather than large individual terminations. The outer edge retains natural, untrimmed host rock where the grey–white matrix is visible. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystalline druses and cavity coatings in geologic settings. This specimen illustrates that typical drusy habit: a dense coating of small quartz crystals on a natural matrix.
