Description
This Amethyst cluster displays numerous sharp, glassy crystal faces with colour zoning from pale lavender to deep violet and areas ranging from translucent to locally transparent. The specimen measures 9 × 4 × 5 cm and weighs 251 g; edges show a rough, natural-looking crystal matrix and the surface appears intact with no visible major damage. The cluster's crystals are largely points that catch the light across multiple faces, and the variation in purple tones is visible across the piece. Dimensions and weight are useful for handling and placement and reflect a compact, hand‑sized cluster. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2). Quartz commonly forms crystals in cavities and geodes and frequently produces the prism-like terminations and glassy faces visible on this specimen.
