Description
This polished scenic Moss Agate freeform shows translucent to milky cream, grey and pale honey tones with layered banding and swirling concentric patterns. Dark brown–green dendritic, moss-like patterning appears near the pointed top and along the lower edge, and the surface has a smooth glossy polish. The cabochon is an elongated, tapered freeform with a broader rounded base and a pointed top, measuring 4.3 × 2.2 × 0.4 cm and weighing 6 g. Banding and internal swirls are clearly visible through the stone’s translucent to milky body, and the piece has to the polished surface. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz), and scenic varieties often show dendritic or moss-like inclusions that create landscape-like patterns. This example is from Indonesia and is presented as a polished freeform cabochon.
