Description
This polished Scenic Moss Agate freeform shows cream, grey, white and honey-yellow tones across a translucent to semi-translucent face. The surface is smooth and reflective, with distinct layered banding and several concentric, orb-like patterns visible across the front and a prominent dark brown dendritic-looking area near one end. The piece measures 3.6 × 2.2 × 0.4 cm and weighs 3 g. Its freeform outline and polish emphasise the banding and internal patterning rather than a symmetrical cabochon shape. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz), and scenic or moss varieties commonly display internal colour banding and dendritic markings that resemble mossy or landscape scenes; this specimen is a clear example of those visual features from an Indonesian origin.
