Description
This polished Red Crazy Lace Agate slab shows tightly layered, wavy banding across a flat, glossy cut face in orange, red-brown, cream and grey. The cut surface is smooth and reflective, while the slab’s outer edges retain an irregular, natural rough margin; a small open cavity is visible near the upper right. The piece measures 17 × 8.3 × 1 cm and weighs 315 g. It is supplied on a clear stand; the slab is thin and suitable for viewing both the banding pattern and the contrast between the polished face and rough edge. Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz (SiO2), and commonly forms in cavities and fractures; the wavy layering seen here is typical of this material and of specimens labelled as Crazy Lace Agate.
