Description
This heart-shaped specimen is a polished piece of pink amethyst and flower agate from Madagascar, with a smoothly polished front and soft pink–beige to cream colours. Cloudy translucent areas and subtle internal veining and mottled patterns are visible across the face, and one side shows a natural-looking pocket or open cavity; the overall surface appears intact. The piece measures 6.5 × 7.8 × 1 cm and weighs 111 g. The combination of pink amethyst tones with the flower-agate-like mottling gives a layered, petal-like appearance across the polish; translucency varies from cloudy to more opaque in places. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and can occur with banded or botryoidal agate varieties in Madagascar. This specimen combines quartz material with the nodular, patterned character often described as flower agate in a wearable, polished heart form.
