Description
This hand-sized crystal chunk combines rhodochrosite, fluorite and pyrite in an irregular, unpolished specimen. The surface shows intermingled pink, purple, pale green and colourless crystalline areas with a darker matrix and a few sharper translucent crystal faces near the top. Measuring 6.5 × 4.5 × 3 cm and weighing 146 g, the piece ranges in texture from granular to blocky across different zones. Visible colour banding and discrete crystalline patches give the specimen a multicoloured, patchwork appearance; there is no claim about internal structure beyond the visible surfaces. Fluorite is a calcium fluoride that commonly forms cubic crystals and can be colour-varied; rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate typically showing pink tones. Wutong, Guangxi Province, China, is the documented locality for this specimen.
