Description
This triangular, matrix-backed specimen is densely coated with dark green to olive-green elongated, blade-like to prismatic epidote crystals sitting on a pale cream to yellow‑white matrix. The surface is textured and uneven with many grouped small crystals, and the matrix shows through at the edges and in open patches. Measuring 7 × 6 × 2.5 cm and weighing 107 g, the piece displays a compact cluster habit across its face and is shown on a clear stand. There is no claim about unseen features; the visible crystals are elongated and closely grouped over the exposed matrix. Epidote is a sorosilicate commonly found in metamorphic and hydrothermal environments and typically forms elongated prismatic or bladed crystals. Hongquizhen, Sichuan is given as the locality for this specimen.
