Description
This pale cream to translucent Calcite cluster is dominated by a tall, spear-like central crystal surrounded by several thinner blade-like crystals arranged as a clustered spray. Crystal surfaces show subtle stepped and layered growth textures that give the cluster a gently striated appearance. The specimen measures 11.5 × 5 × 6 cm and weighs 124 g. The blades are and mostly intact, with the central spear rising noticeably above the surrounding crystals; overall form and surface detail are visible across the cluster. Locality is Wenshan, China. Calcite is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and commonly forms a wide range of habits from scalenohedral and prismatic to bladed and tabular; this piece sits within that varied range as a bladed/prismatic cluster.
