Description
This is an Amethyst tabular, slab-like cluster showing dense, sparkling crystal faces and a distinctly darker central zoning. The lower edge retains natural rough matrix, and the overall habit is a flattened, plate-like cluster rather than a rounded geode. The specimen measures H 16 × W 9.5 × D 9 cm and weighs 1579 g. Crystal faces cover the top surface, catching the light across the plate, while the zoning produces a noticeably deeper purple in the centre that fades towards the margins. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), a common mineral that often forms clustered crystals in cavities and seams. This piece presents a clear example of zoned colouration within an amethyst cluster from Brazil.
