Description
This tall, slab-like Amethyst section shows a flat front face covered in a dense, glittery drusy of dark purple to nearly black crystals that grade outward to a lighter lavender crystal border. The piece has a rounded top edge and a rough grey outer rim of matrix visible around the perimeter. The specimen measures H 9 × W 4 × D 5 cm and weighs 222 g. The front is essentially a continuous drusy surface rather than individual large points, with the colour transition from deep centres to paler outer crystals clearly visible at the edges. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and specimens like this—sections cut or split to expose internal drusy surfaces—are commonly seen from Brazilian sources. The compact size and defined drusy face make this a neat example for study or cabinet display.
