Description
This is an Amethyst druse with a curved, cavity-like habit covered in a dense cluster of purple crystals, showing darker purple tones toward the centre and paler lilac crystals around the margins. One side includes pale grey–white calcite coverage, and the piece is UV reactive. Origin: Brazil. The specimen measures 14 × 10 × 8 cm and weighs 1,357 g. The druse surface is closely packed with many small crystal points across the cavity interior, producing an overall shimmering appearance; the curvature gives the piece a bowl-like profile. There is no additional provenance or treatment information provided. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2), and quartz commonly forms crystals in cavities and druses. Brazilian localities are a frequent source of amethyst specimens.
