Description
This is an Amethyst cluster from Brazil showing a mix of light and darker purple crystals with a pale outer rim and a drusy edge. Crystals range from translucent to opaque and sit on a light-coloured host matrix, giving the piece a compact, crystalline crown. The specimen measures 7.5 × 6 × 8.5 cm and weighs 447 g. The cluster presents varied purple tones across the crystal field; the drusy margin and lighter rim are visible against the host rock. No specific damage or treatments are indicated. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms in cavities and vugs, producing clusters and drusy surfaces like those seen here.
