Description
This polished oval cabochon combines pink amethyst with flower agate in a rounded, domed form. The piece shows pale peach-to-pink tones across the upper dome, with translucent edge areas and a darker bluish‑grey to black mottled lower section. Internally it has a cloudy, granular texture with scattered small pits or vugs and irregular dark, dendritic‑looking patches. Measuring 5.3 × 3.5 × 1.0 cm and weighing 51 g, the cabochon has a flat polished face and a smoothly rounded top. The contrast between the soft pink upper colouration and the darker, mottled lower area gives a layered appearance visible through the translucent margins. Amethyst is the purple (here pink-shaded) variety of quartz; flower agate is a chalcedony-dominant material noted for its orbicular and filamentary patterns. Both are commonly produced from Madagascan material, and the combination here sits within that broader quartz/chalcedony family context.
