Description
This specimen centres on a single dark, elongated prismatic Tourmaline crystal showing pronounced lengthwise striations. The crystal displays glossy to submetallic areas and a maroon–brown face or section at the lower right, all sitting in a coarse off-white to cream matrix. Dimensions are H 4.5 cm × W 6 cm × D 4 cm with a weight of 134 g. Tourmaline is a borosilicate mineral group that commonly forms elongated prismatic crystals in pegmatitic and metamorphic settings. The combination of a dark, striated tourmaline crystal and a pale, coarse matrix is typical for hand specimens from pegmatite-related localities in this region of Pakistan.
