Description
This is a compact plate of Fluorite composed of densely packed cubic crystals showing a range of dark purple to smoky grey tones with lighter translucent areas. Crystal faces display stepped growth and sharp edges, and there are small patches of pale cream–yellow on the surface. The specimen measures 13 × 7 × 1 cm and weighs 212 g. The overall habit is a shallow, tightly sheet of cubes rather than isolated single crystals; surface texture is dominated by stepped faces and crisp cube geometry. is noted in the supplied details. Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2) and commonly forms cubic crystals; specimens from Pakistan are often valued for strong colour zoning between purple and smoky tones. Fluorite can also show variable fluorescence under ultraviolet light, though UV behaviour is specimen-specific.
