Description
This Fluorite specimen shows a dark purple to smoky‑purple colour with abundant small, blocky crystals forming a rugged, jagged surface. A broad, pale seam crosses the middle of the piece, and a few crystal edges are slightly translucent; the specimen is shown on a clear display stand. Measuring 9 × 6 × 1 cm and weighing 72 g, the piece is an irregular, massive form rather than isolated single crystals. The texture is dominated by closely packed blocky crystals that give a sculpted, uneven topography across the face. Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2) and commonly forms cubic or blocky crystals; many specimens from this region are noted for purple colouration, though UV behaviour and other optical properties vary between individual pieces.
