Description
This Brazilian Amethyst pocket features a purple crystalline lining around a hollow central cavity. The interior shows darker purple crystals toward the centre grading to lighter lavender at the outer margins; crystal surfaces are notably sparkly. A flat cut edge is visible along the specimen’s sides and base. The piece measures 9 × 4.5 × 5 cm and weighs 323 g. The amethyst occupies a dark host rock and forms a clustered lining around the hollow, with a clearly defined deep opening at the centre. Surfaces catch the light across many small crystal faces, and the cut base provides a stable plane. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystalline linings in cavities and geodes; Brazilian localities regularly produce purple to lavender hues in this material.
