Description
This tall, slab-like Amethyst shows a dense covering of deep purple to lavender crystals forming a sparkling drusy surface across a flat face. The piece presents irregular natural edges and some translucent outer crystals visible on exposed surfaces. The specimen measures 14 × 8 × 6 cm and weighs 942 g. A pale grey matrix is visible along one side and the base, and the overall habit is a slab-like cluster rather than a hollow geode. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystal-lined cavities and drusy coatings; the colours here range from deep purple to paler lavender, typical of amethyst specimens from Brazil.
