Description
This flat, roughly rectangular Amethyst cluster shows a sparkly drusy surface of closely packed purple crystals with a lighter lavender rim surrounding a deep violet to nearly black centre. Some crystals at the edges are translucent to transparent, and a rough natural outer edge is visible on one side. The piece measures 7 × 6 × 3 cm and weighs 243 g. The drusy layer covers one face of the specimen; crystal sizes are generally small and closely packed across that face, producing a glittering texture. No additional minerals or treatments are stated. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystal-lined cavities and drusy coatings in geologic settings. This example’s Brazilian origin is noted in the specimen data.
