Description
This tall, narrow Amethyst cluster shows an interior of crystals with glassy faces and a sparkling surface. Colour zoning runs from deep violet in places to lighter lavender elsewhere, while the outer edge remains a rough grey‑brown host. The specimen measures 10 × 4 × 7 cm and weighs 378 g. The host provides a contrasting outer rim that frames the purple crystals. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and commonly forms crystalline clusters in cavities and vugs. This piece’s Brazilian origin is recorded with the specimen.
