Description
This freeform Amethyst cluster shows a dense drusy surface of many small angular crystals, with a noticeably darker purple centre that graduates to paler lavender towards the edges. The drusy covers most of a rough host-rock piece, leaving the host visible around the margins. The specimen measures 11 × 8 × 7.5 cm and weighs 699 g. Rough host rock is exposed at the periphery and displays patches of iron staining. Crystal faces are small and angular across the druse rather than large isolated points. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz (SiO2); quartz commonly forms drusy crusts and clusters in cavities and on host-rock surfaces. This piece retains clear visible structure and colour zoning from centre to edge without any technical claims beyond the observable traits.
