Description
This is a pale blue–green Aquamarine fragment set on a tan–cream feldspar-like matrix. The crystal shows a blocky, prismatic habit and an uneven broken top edge that exposes internal crystal structure. The specimen measures 4 × 3 × 3 cm and weighs 39 g. The aquamarine sits directly on the tan matrix and presents a compact, fragmentary appearance rather than whole, terminated crystals. It is shown here on a clear glass stand. Aquamarine is the blue–green variety of beryl, a beryllium aluminium cyclosilicate; specimens from Pakistan are commonly collected as pocket quartz and beryl finds in pegmatite-related settings, where beryl can occur alongside feldspar and other typical pegmatite minerals.
